Moments of the Week – 8/3/25

Finding meaning in the in-between.

📖What I’m Reading

Well, everyone… I’ve officially started The Hunger Games series. A friend and I were wandering through Barnes & Noble the other day when she found out I had never read the books or even seen the movies. She then insisted I had to experience it, and, well… here we are. I’m excited to have a fun new series to escape into for a while. Let the games begin!

🍓In the Kitchen

I made a banana syrup for my coffee and was so excited to share it with you all… but let me tell you, it was not it. So we’re back to the drawing board, and I’ll be trying a different recipe soon. Fingers crossed it’s a winner.

On a brighter note, I finally tried the cookie dough stuffed dates that have been all over TikTok, and they totally live up to the hype.

The other two photos are just little spots I visited around town this week. The first is the Tuesday special at Westport Café (sooo worth it), and the second is the avocado tartine from Messenger Coffee which was also delicious.

🎨Hobbies

I’m officially halfway through my current cross-stitch project, and it was just the little boost of motivation I needed to keep going. Boston, one day I am coming back to you.

✨ A Thought or Quote That Stayed With Me

This week at church, the message was about learning to recognize what God is trying to tell us. One verse really stood out to me:

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” — Psalm 32:8

Sometimes I find myself wondering if I’m even hearing God’s calling the right way, or if I’m living it out at all. But the more we learn about God’s word and who He is, the more we begin to understand His heart for us. I have a tendency to overcomplicate this part of my faith, but the truth is simple… He loves us SO much and just wants to grow in relationship with us.

🌿 Noticing

On my walk, I stumbled upon the sweetest little swing and ended up sitting there for an hour. It was the most peaceful hour I’ve had in a while. I listened to a podcast, watched the world around me, and it was perfect.

The whole time, I kept wondering why don’t I do this more often? Definitely something I want to turn into a habit.

🌕 This Week’s Energy

Lost.

My emotions felt all over the place this week, and my mind was running in a dozen directions. I think part of it came from a lack of sleep after coming off a certain medicine, but beyond that, my heart just felt heavy.

It ended up being a really good week for journaling and reflection. I was able to process and navigate some things I might not have slowed down enough to face otherwise.

🕊️ One Thing I Want to Remember

My friends and I had a game night, and it was just the best. I LOVE a good game night, and this one filled my cup all the way up. We had so many laughs and such good conversation… these are the moments that make life feel like life.

Thanks for slowing down with me...

XO,

Grace♡
