Hi friends 💛
I’ve been wanting to start this little series for a while now, because cycle syncing has completely changed how I see myself, and I think it might do the same for you.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably gone through seasons of feeling disconnected from your body or just overwhelmed by the pressure to always be “on.” Learning about the natural rhythm of my cycle helped me understand that there’s nothing wrong with me, I was just expecting myself to be the same every single day, when in reality, my body is designed to move through phases.
This first post is just an introduction: what the menstrual cycle actually is, the four phases within it, and how they show up in our daily lives. In the weeks to come, I’ll dive into each phase more deeply and share what’s helped me support my body (and mind) during each one.
It’s such a beautiful thing to slow down and truly listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us. There’s so much wisdom there… we just have to give ourselves permission to tap into it.
Can’t wait to share this with you 🤗
So what the heck is cycle syncing?
Cycle syncing is the practice of adjusting how you eat, move, work, and rest according to the four phases of your menstrual cycle. Instead of forcing yourself to show up the same way every day, you begin to work with your body… not against it.
The Four Phases At a Glance
- Menstrual (Winter) – Rest & reflection
- Follicular (Spring) – Creativity & growth
- Ovulatory (Summer) – Energy & connection
- Luteal (Autumn) – Grounding & preparation
I made a simple chart as a reference to keep the basics of each phase close by. I personally like having this saved in my Notes app so I can pull it up whenever I need a reminder of what’s going on in my body or how to better support myself that day.
It’s not about being rigid or over-tracking. It’s just a helpful little guide for those “wait… why do I feel like this?” moments.
Feel free to save it or make it your own!!

Why this matters?
Most of us were never taught how our cycle actuallyyyy works, let alone how to live in rhythm with it. Instead, we were taught to push through and ignore the signs or numb the discomfort… to show up the same every single day.
The truth that I am still learning is we are not meant to be the same every day. Our energy, creativity, emotions, focus, and needs naturally shift throughout the month. It is so mind blowing and powerful to me how much knowledge is within our body when we choose to listen.
As I myself begin to learn how to listen to my body, it has helped me:
- Understand why I sometimes feel deeply reflective and low-energy for no “reason”
- Let go of the guilt around needing rest
- Stop forcing myself into high-intensity workouts or constant productivity
- Feel closer to my body, not frustrated by it
More than anything, I have grown in so much gratitude for my body. As “woo woo” as it may sound, the more I learn to listen, the more I feel this deep trust building within myself.
What to Expect in This Series
This series is meant to be a space to slow down, learn, and reconnect with your body in a way that feels sustainable.
- Menstrual – Rest & reflection💤
- Follicular – Growth & creativity💐
- Ovulatory – Energy & connection🌞
- Luteal – Grounding & preparation🌱
For each phase, we will cover:
- What’s happening in your body (hormones, energy, mood)
- How you might feel emotionally
- Simple ways to support yourself with food, movement, mindset, and rest
- My personal journey in each phase
My hope is that these posts feel like conversations that are encouraging, honest, and helpful. This is not about doing it “perfectly,” but becoming more aware of your rhythm:)
Thank you for joining me in this process of learning and growing!
XO,
Grace♡
