Moments of the Week – 8/10/25

Finding meaning in the in-between.

📖What I’m Reading

You guys!

I was SO on the fence about The Hunger Games series at first. But let me tell you… I am in now. I’m a little over halfway through the first book and have really grown to love the characters. It started slow for me, and I was honestly getting FOMO because everyone raves about how good this series is. I was starting to think something might be wrong with me… but nope, it just took a little time to hook me, and now I’m fully invested.

🍓In the Kitchen

This week we had some solid eats. The first one was actually prepared by my mom, a delicious little salad loaded with all the fun summer things.

I also meal-prepped some soup, which is probably what you’re looking at and wondering, what the heck? We had some chicken in the fridge that was about to go bad, so I found a random soup recipe, tossed in whatever else was lying around, and bam. These soup cube thingies are great because you just pop them in the freezer, then pull one out when you need it. Perfect for those “no food in the house” or “too lazy to cook” moments when you still want a good meal.

And finally, my go-to dinner that I have way too often: salmon with rice and a veggie… this time, broccoli. I prefer my broccoli right on the edge of burnt, it’s just so good that way. And served with a side of Netflix, of course.

I’m a little sad because I didn’t get a picture of one of the recipes I replenished this week, my seed cycling balls. If you haven’t heard of seed cycling, you’re definitely not alone. I want to dedicate an entire post to what they are and why they’re amazing. That’s coming soon. But for now, just know they are SO good and I have one every single day for #hormones.

🎨Hobbies

I made a lot of progress on my cross stitch this week, and I’m quite proud of it. Honestly, at this point, this category in the weekly roundup should probably just be called “Cross Stitch Update.”

✨A Thought or Quote That Stayed With Me

The message at church this week was such a wake-up call and exactly what I needed to hear. The pastor talked about how we often live in the “do” category: Who do I need to marry? What job do I need to take? What house do I need to buy? We spend so much time fixated on the future that we forget to ask the more important question: Who do I want to be today?

It was such a relief to realize I don’t have to keep grasping for control over every detail of my future. Instead, I can focus on being fully present and showing up as the best version of myself each day.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” – Matthew 6:34

🌿Noticing

One of my sweet friends who I cherish and love more than anything was home for the week, and we finally got to catch up. She came to visit me at work and read her Bible, and in that moment, I felt so much gratitude for her and our friendship. She’s one of those friends I can go months without talking to, yet when we reconnect, it’s like my soul has been rehydrated. She inspires me to show up better every single day. I took a cute little picture of her just being herself, and it made me smile.

Side note…. we tried a new yoga/pilates studio and were quite humbled. Please enjoy our before and after photos😝

🌞This Week’s Energy

Emotional… and then emotional again.

I was in that time of the month (I hope), when everything feels so big and heavy. But now that I’m finally on the other side of it, I can see the beauty in it too: the clarity, the reflection, and the space it gave me to feel deeply.

🕊️One Thing I Want to Remember

Leah and I had our first Bible study together, and it was oh so delightful with the best discussion. We’re both surprisingly eager to hit the books again this semester… something I never thought I’d say after last semester. And, of course, it all happened over some Cava. What could be better?

Thanks for slowing down with me...

XO,

Grace♡
